Sqwagul Magic

Sqwaguls are very crafty creatures and have learned how to adapt the plentiful magic that surround them. With their magic, they can perform boundless feats of mischief and aid.

All sqwaguls are highly gifted with magic and rely on it daily. Their magic manifests in the form of their horn(s). Peeps are born with no horn, and it grows out with age slowly.

Those with longer horns have a bigger capability for magic. If the growth of their horn is stunted, they will have less magic, or difficulty casting spells. Occasionally, magic essence manifests into two horns (or more). Those with multiple horns often either have a problem regulating their magic or, in the case of those with very long double horns, have so much excess magic that it results in instead of a massively long horn, two normal-sized ones. In cases where the horn manifests in stranger and more abnormal shapes, this can indicate a magic ability that is unstable.

Sqwaguls that never grow their horn(s) as they age will be incapable of magic, and cannot become griffes, make mist, or levitate objects.

Sqwaguls manipulate magic by tapping directly into their channel of magic at the horn. Sqwaguls can manipulate magic in various ways, the most common uses are changing forms and making mists.

All magic-capable sqwaguls can make a mist. The stored magic in their horns becomes physical and creates a misty aura that can be used to manipulate the world around them. They can surround themselves with the mist to float and fly and carry things, even do things they otherwise would be limited from by their body type and lacking a front set of limbs. They wave their horns around a like a magic wand and "conduct" the mist.

Your sqwagul's mist should be the color of their eyes or horns, and shouldn't have any magical effects unless they have a special trait.

Powerful Magic

Sqwaguls with immense magical abilities tend to spontaneously develop mutations or features that reflect their magical powers.

For example, the creation of magic mists for various purposes can only be done temporarily--in the case of powerful sqwaguls, their mist may perpetually shroud them. The creation of mist "wings" to fly instead of typical levitation is common, if a sqwagul seems to always have them, it's a sign that the individual has some above-average capabilities, to say the least.

Due to the inherent crystallization of Mystic magic (the most base and general form of magic), which sqwaguls are honed into, individuals with strong powers may also begin to manifest "crystalline" characteristics, such as crystalline horns, sparkling or crystalline mists, or sparkling eyes.

Griffe form

Aside from human/anthro forms, sqwaguls have their griffe form.
The griffe form resembles the griffins of myth, with a set of clawed limbs, and a set of pawed limbs.

 

Griffe example ​Standard griffe. Small edits may be made to account for anatomy. Should closely resemble the original. Paws may be on front OR back paws, not both, unless the sqwagul is given a trait. All legs may have bird claws instead. Should be a similar size and stature to the original.

Griffe example (Grace) Grace sqwaguls carry over their graceful bodies, resulting in a more regal appearance.

Uploading to the masterlist

• You may add a griffe form to a sqwagul at any time for free.
• You can upload a sqwagul design as a griffe only. There does not need to be both forms.
• The traits should resemble those of the main form, but they can be downgraded for free, or upgraded in the alternate form by using trait essence.
• Upload this form like any other transformation when uploading to the masterlist.
