Today we came upon some entrance to a cave. Given its more formal structure about the mouth, it appears to be a mine entrance. We have decided to set up camp, using this as a temporary shelter. Our attempts to navigate out of the forest seems to only have led us further into its depths, as if something within the heart of this jungle is beckoning us to our own doom... Regardless, I have decided to venture into these mines day by day, in an attempt to map out its tunnels and passageways. Perhaps it will give insight to the civilization's technology and resources, perhaps even reveal the story as to why the collapse occurred so suddenly. I will record my findings, using the tomes I have at my disposal.
