VI: Mothman Injuries
Mothman Injuries
Scarring and blood
Mothmen blood and injuries seem to glow faintly, and tend to be colored more on the pale side. They often bleed unnatural colors.
Cultural impact
Another uncommon victim of injuries, mothmen don't usually find themselves getting hurt with nicks or scrapes, let alone stabs or slices. Typically pacifistic, their blood is only spilled in the event of an attack by another creature.
It's culturally common for mothmen to attribute personalities to the hue and glow intensity of their blood-- it's said that those with a brighter glow have more passionate personalities, while duller glows represent shyer or quieter personalities. The intensity of the hue itself reflects similarly, with deeper shades representing active personalities, and paler shades reflecting passive ones. Hues of pink and purple are attributive to those who are creative and intellectual, black or neutral colors being associated with those with more moody individuals.
Hue | Symbolism |
---|---|
Pink/purple | Creative, passionate |
Black/grey | Moody, introspective |
White | Radiant, cheerful |
Yellow/orange | Calm, level-headed |
Red | Friendly, agreeable |
Blue/green | Feisty, defiant |
General injuries
Mothmen are noted to be particularly fragile-- potentially one of the more fragile species of Merlot-- especially smaller mothmen. It isn't entirely understood how their biology works, but it is put under the pressures of a world they are not native to, and that comes with all the baggage of such.
Merlot's grvaity is greater than they are used to, it's notable that mothmen who were born and raised on merlot tend to be shorter, though they handle these conditions much better than those not native to the planet.
