Vocid Claw
Flowering
COMMON NAMES: The vocid claw, dead tree
SCIENTIFIC NAME:
HEIGHT: typically reaches around 18ft at max height
REGION: Obica (Grimsie)
DESCRIPTION: The vocid claw is a tree, typically ~18ft in height. The tree is known for being "dead" most of the time, and rarely does it ever come into bloom or sprout leaves. In these moments, which are rare and tend to happen only after decades, the plant will quickly grow out its leaves, flower buds opening quickly after. The areas littered with these trees become a beautiful, shimmering spectacle for only a week-- seeing it happen is a highly desired event.
Its leaves are pinnatisect and droop downwards off of the branches in thick clusters. The plant, when in bloom, grows a multitude of small, delicate flowers. Both these flowers and the leaves have a slight iridescence to them, being a lovely purple-pink that seems to shimmer and sparkle. Seeing the blooms catch the moonlight is truly magnificent.
The claw is a typically hardy plant, though it's found in fairly static climates it can withstand many elements and abuse. Despite its looks, it is not fragile in any way.
