Current Event:
New Beginnings
A few users trial-created some designs for December's event, and we're looking to seek out some more to make this year truly special!
Please read the guidelines below, as well as the individual guidelines for design and concept submissions.
Slot Types
For this event, we will be splitting up submissions into concepts and designs.
Concepts are a combination of textual information and reference images/moodboards.
Designs are drawn concepts of adoptable characters that are ready for adoption!
For this event, we're allowing 6 designs and 6 concepts per user-- one for each of the available species on Merlot. The resulting designs will be raffled off to our community!
Writers and artists are both encouraged to participate. If you're good at describing personality, but not good at putting it to imagery, consider donating a concept for another user to give it a look.
Similarly, if you've got a knack for art, but struggle with coming up with a concept, you can pick up a concept to design, and get rewarded for it.
Adopting a Concept
Concepts can be "adopted" from the concept center, and then submitted like normal slots. You don't have to follow the guidelines set for you exactly-- feel free to deviate from what's given.
Submitting a finalized concept as a design will use up one of your design slots, and you will get any applicable rewards for your effort!
You can "purchase" a concept for free, then submit a design update at any time. We're adding a cooldown timer between claiming designs, just to keep one person from hogging them all-- though it will be set to 24 hours instead.
If at any time you feel as if you cannot complete an adopted concept, or lose interest with an adopted concept, we ask that you surrender it back to be adopted again, so another user can have a chance at designing it.
These concept slots are for our event, the finished designs will be raffled, and are not yours to keep!

- 1 per species (No duplicate species per user)
- You can make 2 sqwaguls, but it must be 1 design, and 1 concept. You can't make 2 sqwaguls in designs only or 2 in concepts only.

- Subtypes: Any (If applicable)
- Transformations: Any
- Released content only, so no teased species such as dustpuffs or yasoe, etc.
Rewards
- 2 AV per concept or design
- For your first concept or design submission only: 1 entry into a raffle for a limitless ticket!
- 1 entry into our general contributor raffles per design or concept!
- Claimable sparkles, if applicable
- Designs on bases cannot be claimed for sparkles.
Submissions
- Please use the Event MYO creation page to create and submit your concepts and designs for approval. Make sure you are selecting the right type of slot, design or concept.
- Similar to adoption MYOs, these will let you create your concept or design and submit it like a regular slot. The donated concept or design will be credited to TheOne and not your personal account.
- After submitting your design or concept to the queue, please add it to the corresponding design or concept submission form so we can keep track of rewards. The forms have been time-limited, so please edit your responses instead of submitting new ones.
- Rewards will go out on the first of August, so hang tight!
End Date
- Finished designs should be submitted by August 7th.
- Finished concepts should be submitted by August 1st, to allow artists some time to finalize and complete any remaining concepts.
- Remaining slots that have not been submitted by their deadline will expire and be deleted. Unclaimed concepts will be held onto for the next design event, or potentially put into the Adoption Center.
